English Bay in 1960

I did this acrylic printing while I was attending The Vancouver School of Art. Now called Emily Carr. There is a great story about this painting that happened 60 years later.

The real meaning of Friendship.

This painting of English Bay was done for a Art School Project in 1960. Two friends any myself decided to travel to California in my 1952 Mercury convertible. But one friend noticed that my front tires were bald. He said he would purchase me two new ones for the painting. Which I agreed to. Then 60 years later my painting was delivered back to me with the message that said. I’ve enjoyed this painting that hung on my wall for 60 years and he felt that he should return the timeless treasure back to me. The message was all about that Friendship doesn’t come with an expiry date and that after all those years, how a simple act of kindness can reunite two friends like they had never been apart.

Friendship and kindness are eternal.
